TermDefinition
Homophone a word that sounds the same as another word, but is different in meaning and spelling
Homograph a word spelled the same as another word, but is different in meaning and pronunciation
Homonym a word that sounds and is spelled exactly like another word, but has a different meaning
Noun A person, place, thing, or idea
Verb An action word
Preposition A word that shows the relationship of a noun or pronoun to another word
Pronoun A word that takes the place of a noun (I, he, she, etc.)
Article a, an, the
Subject who or what the sentence is about
Predicate tells something about the subject
