Med Terms and Definitions

TERMSDEFINITIONS
HUMALOG is used to treat type 1 (insulin-dependent) diabetes in adults. Insulin lispro is a fast-acting form of insulin.
DETROL LA is used to treat overactive bladder with symptoms of urinary frequency, urgency, and incontinence.
DEPAKOTE ER is used to treat various types of seizures disorders. It sometimes used together with other seizure medications.
COZAAR is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It sometimes given together with other blood pressure medications.
PULMICORT RESPULES is used to prevent asthma attacks. It will not treat an asthma attack that has already begun.
VIGAMOX is a flouroquinolone antibiotic that kills sensitive bacteria by stopping the production of essential proteins needed by the bacteria to survive.
FOSAMAX PLUS D alendronate is in the group of medicines called bisphosphonates. It alters the cycle of bone formation and breakdown in the body. Cholecalciferol is form of a vitamin D, and is important for the absorption of calcium from the stomach for the functioning o
MAXALT is a headache medicine. It is used to treat migraine headaches.
COSOPT is used to treat certain types of glaucoma and other causes of high pressure inside the eye.
REQUIP is used to treat symptoms of Parkinsons disease such as stiffness, tremors, muscle spasms, and poor muscle control. It is also used to treat restless legs syndrome (RLS).
