government an organization that determines the way in which a city, state, country, etc. is run
interaction to communicate with and react to the people you're involved with
conflict a disagreement or argument about something important
cooperation working or acting together for a common purpose or benefit
direct democracy a form of government in which all citizens can directly participate in the decision-making process
representative democracy a system of government in which all eligible citizens vote on representatives to pass laws for them
absolute monarchy a form of monarchy where the ruler has the power to rule their country and citizens freely with no laws or opposition telling them what to do
constitutional monarchy a system of government in which a country is ruled by a monarch whose power is limited by a constitution
theocracy a form of government in which the religious leaders are the government leaders, and government policies are influenced by religion
citizen a person who legally belongs to, gives allegiance to, and has the rights and protections of a country
inherit to get by legal right from a person at his or her death, or to get by heredity
dictatorship form of government in which a person or small group rules with unlimited power
diplomacy when countries try to work together instead of fighting
treaty a formal, signed, agreement
alliance an agreement between two or more parties, made to benefit both parties
military conflict a hostile meeting of opposing military forces in the course of a war
