Mirrors and Lenses

TermDefinition
concave curved or rounded inwards, like the inside of a spoon.
convex curved or rounded outwards, like the back of a spoon.
converge to come together.
diverge to move apart.
lens a transparent object that refracts light waves such that converge or diverge to create an image.
real image an image that is formed by an intersection of light rays, a real image can be projected on a screen.
virtual image an image from which light rays appear to diverge even though they are not actually focused there, a virtual image can not be projected on a screen.
