| Organic Chemical | Any of a large group chemicals that includes most carbon-containing chemicals |
| Radiation | Energy that is radiated from a source as particles or as waves |
| Mutation | A change to the DNA of a cell |
| Hazard | A factor that causes harm or may cause harm |
| Exposure | Contact of an environmental toxicant with the human envelop |
| Cilia | Tiny finger-like protrusions of the cells that line the trachea and bronchi |
| Carcinogen | A substance that increase the risk of cancer |
| Bacteria | Single-celled microorganism's, smaller than protozoa and containing DNA but no true nucleus. |
