Words you are likely to use with Population Density Maps

population the number of people living in a region such as a city, state, or country
population density shows how crowded an area is by calculating the average number of people living in a square unit of land
sparsely populated describes any place where only a few people live and they are far apart from each other
densely populated describes a place where a lot of people live close together
rural a population region located in places like the countryside, a forest, the desert, or up in the mountains
urban a population region located inside a city
suburban a population region located in a residential community just outside a city
metropolis a large city that becomes the political and cultural center of a region
birth rate the number of babies born in a region for every thousand people
death rate the number of people that die in a region for every thousand people
uninhabited nobody lives there
region an area that has one or more unifying characteristics that set it apart from other areas.
