Neurolinguistic Programming is a way of understanding people's internal program
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| NeuroLinguistic Programming consists of three components | Neuro, Linguistic, and programming. |
| NLP was developed by | Bandler and Grinder |
| Neuro | refers to the process of information through the five senses |
| Linguistic | refers to the way verbal and nonverbal communication organizes neural representations into meaningful data |
| Programming | the ability to organize neurolinguistic systems to accomplish specific therapy goals. |
| Underlying NLP is the concept of | unconscious representational systems in which the past, subjective experiences of an individual take the form of internal programs, which determines how the person draws his or her internal “map.” |
| In particular, the client’s representational system corresponds to their | preferred sensory mode. For instance, auditory, visual, kinesthetic. |
| In order for communication to occur smoothly, a therapist must learn to | “sense” information in the same way the client does and then communicate using the client’s preferred sensory mode. |
