Geography

Study of the Globe

TermDefinition
geography is the study of Earth and its people, places and environments.
Spatial is having to do with the places, shapes, and relationships of Earth's features to on another.
Landscape is the portion of Earth's surface that can be viewed at one time from a location.
Relative location is the location of one place compared to another place.
Absolute location is the exact location of something.
Latitude is the lines on a map that run east and west.
Longitude is the lines on a map that runs north and south.
Equator is the line of latitude that runs around the middle of the Earth.
Prime Meridian is the starting point from measuring longitude.
Region is a group of places that are close to one another and share some characteristics.
Environment is the natural surroundings of a place.
Landform is a natural feature found on land.
Climate is the average weather in a area over a long period of time.
Resource is a material that can be used to produce crops or other product from a specific area.
