| deep culture | shared beliefs, attitudes, norms, rules, taboos, opinions, expectations |
| syllabus | document that instructors provide to students; it outlines essential information such as rules, homework, expectations |
| D2L | the software used in ecampus |
| core curriculum | general education that expose a student to broad areas of study |
| prerequisites | a course that must be completed before taking a more advanced course |
| corequisites | course that must be taken at the same time as another |
| major | the area of study that leads to your career |
| GPA | grade point average |
| Withdrawal | an official way to leave college |
| forks in the road | places in life when you must face obstacles and/or make choices |
| a victim mindset | keeps people from seeing and acting on choices that could help them achieve what they want in life |
| a creator mindset | causes people to see multiple options to make effective choices to get what they want in life |
| inner critic | inner voice that judges us as inadequate |
| inner defender | instead of judging ourselves, we judge others |
| inner guide | the wise inner voice that seeks to make the best of any situation |
| soft skills | skills that come from within like motivation and determination |
| hard skills | skills such as writing, reading, and math |
| fixed mindset | a mindset where you think intelligence is something you have or don't have |
| growth mindset | a willingness to change and grow and embraced challenges |
