Vacuum Tube Evacuated glass bulb in which an electric current flows across vacuum from cathode to anode.
Geissler Tube Gas-discharge tube.
Crookes Tube Cathode ray tube.
Thermionic Emission Emission of electrons from a hot, glowing object.
Edison Effect Glow caused by thermionic emission.
Rectifier Any device that converts AC to DC.
Diaphragm Thin, flexible metal piece covering box in telephone mouthpiece.
Modulated Radio Wave Produced by impressing an audio-frequency wave upon a carrier.
Transmitter Generates a carrier wave.
Modulator Combines audio-frequency and carrier wave to produce a modulated radio wave.
