Adrenergic Drugs

Part of SNS, controls heart rate, breathing rate, and blood to skeletal muscles.

What are Adrenergic drugs used for? Resp. distress, MI, Shock, Allergic reaction, and Hypovolemia.
What do Adrenergic drugs do? Increase BP, Increase HR, Constrict blood vessels, Open airways.
Alpha 1 and Alpha 2 are part of what system? Vascular system
Beta 1 The Heart
What does Beta 1 do? Increases the strength of contraction on the heart. Increases HR.
What are some Beta 1 drugs for the heart? Epinepherine, Dopamine, Levopen
Beta 2 The Lungs
What does Beta 2 do? Bronchodilate, relax
What is the name of the Beta 2 drug for the lungs? Albuterol
Adverse reactions of adrenergic drugs Increased blood pressure, N/V, HA, Increased HR, Increased BP higher than normal.
