What are Adrenergic blockers used for? HTN, Angina, Heart Failure, and Arrhythmias.
Beta Blockers Decrease workload of the heart by vasodilation of HR.
Beta Blocker Meds Known to end in "OLOL" - Atenolol, Metoprolol.
Adverse Reactions of Beta Adrenergic Meds Orthostatic Hypotension, Bradycardia, Dizziness, Weakness, and Headache.
Nursing Interventions Monitor VS: HR/BP, EKG. Urine Output. VS at home. Lay down; rest Hold if HR is <60 Decongestants/ cold meds - Be careful BP increase with these meds. Do not give BB to asthmatic pt's bc it can cause Broncospasms.
