What determines how long/short stitches are? Stitch LENGTH knob
Turning this makes the needle go up and down? Hand wheel
What is the function of the Hand Wheel Knob? Press in and the needle stops moving
Where do you place the spool of thread on the machine? Spool pin
What does the Thread Guide do? Tells the thread "where to go" on the machine.
What machine part allows the thread to do down to the needle? Thread take-up lever
What is the function of the needle? Puts the upper and lower thread together and makes stitches in the material.
What machine part hold the fabric in place as you are sewing? The Presser Foot
The cover plate plate protects what two parts of the sewing machine? Protects the bobbin and moving parts
The bobbin holds what while sewing? the lower thread
What is a seam? the line where two or more layers of fabric are held together by stitching
What is the area between the stitching and raw, cut edge of the fabric called. Seam Allowance
