Abnormal Behavior (Neurodevelopmental Disorders)

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD) difficulty paying attention and staying focused; difficulty controlling behavior, and hyperactivity to a greater degree than most other children
Symptoms of inattention (1) easily distracted; misses details; forgets things; switches activities; gets bored quickly
Symptoms of inattention (2) does not complete tasks; loses things; does not listen; daydreams; easily confused; difficulty processing information
Symptoms of impulsivity impatient; blurt out comments inappropriately; act out thinking; interrupt activities of others
Symptoms of hyperactivity fidgeting/squirming; talk incessantly, move around touching everything; trouble sitting still; difficulty doing activities silently
Predominantly Hyperactive-Impulsive AD/HD shows symptoms of hyperactivity and impulsivity
Predominantly Inattentive shows symptoms of inattention
Combined hyperactive-impulsive and inattentive AD/HD shows combined symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity
Autism Spectrum Disorder lack of responsiveness to other people; impairment in verbal and nonverbal communication; very limited activities and interests
