Abnormal Behavior (Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders)

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) recurrent, unwanted thoughts/ideas/compelling urges to engage in repetitive behavior
Obsession persistent, intrusive and unwanted thought that an individual cannot get out of his/her mind; unique topic, repugnant, seen as uncontrollable
Compulsion ritualistic behavior performed repeatedly; done to reduce the tension created by the obsession
Hoarding Disorder persistent difficulty discarding or parting with possession due to a perceived need to save the items and distress parting with them
