4. Where are the metalloids on the periodic table? In between metals and nonmetals in a staircase formation
5. Where are the nonmetals on the periodic table? On the very right, and hydrogen
6. Where are the metals on the periodic table? Middle all the way to left
7. What is the smallest part of an element? Atom
8. What is the smallest part of a compound? Molecule
9. What does a period represent? A row
10. What does a group represent? A column
11. What is the definition of mass? The amount of matter in an object
12. What is the Law of Conservation of Matter? Matter cannot be created or destroyed
13. What is the definition of density? How tightly packed an object is
14. What is the formula for density? mass/volume
15. What are the types of physical properties? Density, Boiling and melting, color, and conductivity
16. What are the types of chemical properties? Combustibility, Toxicity, reactivity, and tarnish
17. What is the definition of melting point? The point where solids change to liquids
18. What is the definition of combustibility? How easily something is set on fire
19. What is the definition of reactivity? How easily something combines with another object
20. What is the definition of boiling point? The point at which liquids change to gases
21. What is a solute? The thing that gets dissolved
22. What is a solvent? The thing that dissolves the solute
23. What is a solution? The object that comes out of the dissolving process
24. What is a homogenous mixture? Mixture that is the same all the way through
25. What is a heterogeneous mixture? Mixture that differs, and isn't the same throughout
26. What does the atomic number represent? The amount of protons and electrons
27. What does the atomic mass represent? Number of protons + neutrons
28. What is a noble gas? Gas that is low in reactivity and on the right of the table
29. How do you find the number of neutrons? Subtract number of protons from the atomic mass
30. What are reactants and products? Reactants cause the reaction and react, while product is the ending substance as a result of the reaction
