Hypothesis A tentative insight that is not yet verified or tested
Theory A well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the world
Variable Something in an experiment that is likely to change
Altruism The quality of unselfish concern for the welfare of others
Collectivism A theory that the people should own the means of production
Culture All the knowledge and values shared by a society
Inhibition The conscious exclusion of unacceptable thoughts or desires
constancy The tendency to give rise to similar perceptual experiences
Persona An image of oneself that one presents to the world
