| Chemical energy | Energy liberated by a chemical reaction or absorbed in the formation of a chemical compound. |
| Electrical energy | Energy made available by the flow of electric charge through a conductor |
| Kinetic energy | The energy of motion |
| Potential energy | Energy stored in an object. |
| Thermal energy | Thermal energy is the energy that is generated and measured by heat. |
| Mechanical energy | The sum of kinetic and potential energy |

| Producer | An object that makes or supplies something for another |
| Biomass | Plant or animal waste that's used as fuel |
| Core | The centre of the Earth |
| Geothermal energy | Energy from the heat in the interior of the earth |
| Harmful | causing or capable of causing damage. |
| Hydropower | Power produced by water. |
| Renewable resource | any natural resource (as wood or solar energy) that can be replenished naturally with the passage of time |
| Non- renewable resource | Source that cannot used again such as gas, petrol and coal. |
| Turbine | An engine that causes a bladed rotor to move. |
| Coal | Fossil fuel consisting of carbonized vegetable matte |
| Acid rain | Rain containing acids that form in the atmosphere when industrial gas emissions |
| Natural gas | A fossil fuel in the gaseous state |
| Nuclear power | nuclear energy regarded as a source of electricity for the power grid (for civilian use) |
