AUDIBLE The speakers were broken, so the announcements were not audible. heard or able to be heard
AUDIENCE There was a large audience watching our championship baseball game. a group of people who gather together to listen to or watch something; the people who watch, read, or listen to something
AUDIO I listened to the audio version of our baseball game on the radio. of or relating to the sound that is heard on a recording or broadcast
AUDITION In order to be in the school play, you had to audition for a part. a short performance to show the talents of someone (such as an actor or musician)
AUDITORIUM Our teacher took us to the auditorium to watch a movie. a large room or building where people gather to hear a speech or watch a performance.
ANTIDOTE When I got bit by a snake, the doctor gave me an antidote to stop the poison from spreading. a substance that stops the harmful effects of a poison; something that corrects or improves the bad effects of something
ANTISOCIAL The antisocial boy is mean to everyone in our class. violent or harmful to people; not friendly to other people
ANTIPATHY I felt antipathy towards my brother when he wouldn't let me play the video game. a strong feeling of dislike
ANTISEPTIC My mom washed my cut with an antiseptic so it wouldn't get infected. a substance that prevents infection in a wound by killing bacteria
ANTIBODY A person produces anitbodies to make their body stronger so it can fight diseases. a substance produced by the body to fight disease
