cell basic unit of structure and function of all living things
cell wall a stiff covering outside the cell membrane that gives the cell extra strength and support
cell membrane a covering that surrounds and protects the cell
nucleus the control center of the cell and waste moves out of the cell through the cell membrane. It gives the cell its rounded shape.
organelle a small structure that does a certain job in the cell
organism a living thing made up of one or more cells
vacuoles found in a plant cell and stores food and water
mitochondria ”powerhouse” of the cell. Takes in nutrients and breaks it down
cytoplasm ”cell liquid” fills the space between the cell membrane and the nucleus
chloroplasts uses light energy from the sun to make food for the plant cell
