Nervous, Muscular, and Sensory
| Partial | Description |
|---|---|
| Simple | localized area of body. No loss of consciousness. Result, twitching , tightness and contortion of body. |
| Complex | Localized area of body. Result, twitching , tightness and contortion of body. Impaired consciousness, but not complete loss. |
| Absence (Petit mal) | interruption of normal activity, such as eye roll, and jerking. about 30 secs long. |
| Tonic- clonic (grand mal) | body rigid, then patient falls down, convultions occur, urination and saliva. |
| Atonic | loss of muscle tone and consciousness, patient fainted. |
| Myoclonic | muscle jerks, may throw patient down or wake up. consciousness not lost. |
| Status epilepticus | convulsions w/out loss of consciousness for 30 mins. high fever and lack of oxygen brain damage. medical emergency. |
