Conductor A material that allows electricity or heat to pass through it easily.
Insulator A material that does NOT allow electricity or heat to pass through it easily.
Magnetism A force that can attract or repel magnetic materials.
Friction The force in which two objects rub against each other causing them to heat up or slow down.
Energy The ability to do work
Mechanical Energy Work done for something that is moving
Thermal Energy Energy of heat
Solar Energy Energy produced by the sun
Light Energy Energy in the form of waves that can travel through an empty space
Sound Energy Energy from vibrations
Electrical Energy Energy of moving electrons or electric charges
Heat resistent Will NOT easily become hot
Independent Variable The variable the scientist changes
Dependent Variable The variable that you measure or observe
Volume How much space something takes up
Density The amount of molecules in matter that allows it to float or sink.
Physical Change A change of matter in size, shape, or a state without any change in identity.
Chemical Change A change of matter that occurs when atoms link together in a new way, creating a new substance from the original substance.
