| Legislature | The law making body of a government |
| Dictatorship | A form of a government in which the political power is held by a slef-appointed ruler |
| Prime Minister | The head of government in a parliamentary democracy |
| Monarchy | Ruled by a king or king |
| Presidential Democracy | A system of government in which the presidential is directly elected by the citizens |
| Democracy | A country or nation that receives its power from the people |
| Parliamentary Democracy | Executive power is vested in a legislatur. The legislature selects the executive branch |
| Autocratic | One person possesses unlimited government power. |
| Head of state | Ceremonial position with limited government power; often reserved for a monarch |
| Head of government | Leader of government with the most influrence and power |
| Executive | Branch of government responsible for carrying out the laws |
| Personal freedom | Basic rights given to citizens that include the right to vote, equal rights and freedom of the press, speech, and religion |
