| Head of State | Ceremonial position with limited government power, often reserved for a monarch |
| Executive | Branch of government responsible for carrying out the laws |
| Democracy | A country or nation that receives its power from the people |
| Dictarorship | A form of government in which the political power is held by a self-appointed ruler |
| Autocratic | One person possesses unlimited government power |
| Legislature | The law making body of a goverment |
| Presidential democracy | A system of government in which the president is directly elected by the citizens |
