| Dictatorship | A form of government in which the political power is held by a self-appointed ruler. |
| Prime Minister | The head of government in a Parliamentary democracy. |
| Monarchy | Ruled by a King or Queen. |
| Presidential Democracy | A system of government in which the president is directly elected by the citizens. |
| Democracy | A country or nation that receives its power from the people. |
| Parliamentary Democracy | Executive power is vested in a legislature. The legislature selects the executive branch. |
| Autocratic | One person possesses unlimited government power. |
| Head of State | Ceremonial position with limited government power; often reserved for a monarch. |
| Head of Government | Leader of the government with the most influence and power. |
| Executive | Branch of government responsible for carrying out laws. |
| Personal Freedom | Basic rights given to citizens that include the right to vote, equal rights and freedom of the press, speech, and religion. |
