cermet a tough, heat-resistant material that has the properties of both a ceramic and an alloy
composite a mixture of two materials, one of which is embedded in the other
glass a ceramic mixture with no regular crystal structures
plastic polymer-based material that can be easily molded
synthetic fiber a thin strand of synthetic polymer that can be woven into fabrics; examples include nylon and Kevlar fibers
