solid the state in which matter has a definite shape and volume
liquid state of matter which takes the shape of its container and has a definite volume
gas state in which matter has changes in both shape and volume
plasma the state of matter that does not have a definite shape or volume and whose particles have been broken apart
vaporization the change of state from a liquid to a gas
boiling vaporization occurs throughout a liquid

sublimation change of state from a solid directly to a gas
freezing change from a liquid to a solid
melting change from a solid to a liquid
matter anything that has mass and takes up space
deposition change of state from a gas directly to a solid
Phase change Physical change in the state of matter from one state to another
endothermic A type of reaction that absorbs energy from its surroundings
exothermic A type of reaction that releases energy to its surroundings
