8th Science CH3 Electromagnetic waves

| diffraction | bending of waves-such as light waves or water waves or sound waves-passing through openings, around obstacles, or by relatively sharp edges |
| electromagnetic spectrum | the entire rage of electromagnetic waves as shown in both frequencies (103 to 1023 Hz) and wavelengths |
| electromagnetic wave | transverse waves that do not require a medium through which to travel and which are produced by an oscillating charge; an electromagnetic wave travels at a constant speed, so its wavelength is inversely proportional to its frequency |
| radiation | transfer of energy by electromagnetic waves |
