Week 3 Vocab for Poem
| Term | Definition |

| relevant | important to, connected to, or significant to an issue, event, or person in some way. |
| repetition | a technique in which a sound, word, phrase, or line is repeated for emphasis or unity. It often helps to reinforce meaning and create an appealing rhythm. |
| rhyme scheme | a pattern of end rhymes in a poem. This is noted by assigning a letter of the alphabet, starting with a, to each line. Lines that rhyme are given the same letter. |
| stanza | a group of two or more lines that form a unit in a poem. Each of these may have the same number of lines, or the number of lines may vary. |
| tone | expresses the writer's attitude toward his or her subject. Words such as angry, sad, and humorous can be used to describe different ones. |
