Section 7: Commercial Case

TermDefinition
Service Stream A related set of services provided to customers as a coherent offering, e.g. residential planning application, consent and control.
Collaborative procurement A procurement exercise facilitated by the pre-existence of a framework agreement, call-off contract, etc.
Procurement strategy The approach adopted to optimise the balance between risk, cost, performance level and longevity of a product, service or works.
DBFO Design, Build, Fund and Operate.
Charging mechanism Also payment mechanism. The conditions set in place around payments for service that encourage superior performance by a supplier.
Payment mechanism Also charging mechanism. The conditions set in place around payments for service that encourage superior performance by a supplier.
Risk apportionment A formal agreement setting out the assignment of management and mitigation of risks associated with delivery of a product, service or works .
Contract currency A measure of performance that is used to define a payment mechanism.
