U1-Intro to Industry


Architecture The art of designing buildings and construction.
Attendance The action or state of regularly being present at a place or event.
Hierarchy A system or organization in which people or groups are ranked one above the other according to status or authority.
Initiative/self-motivation Able to act on initiative, identify opportunities & proactive in putting forward ideas & solutions.
Leadership The action of leading a group of people or an organization with the ability to motivate and direct others.
Oral / Written communication The ability to express your ideas clearly and confidently in speech and writing
Organizational Chart A graphic representation of the structure of an organization or business, showing the relationships of the positions or jobs within it.
Punctuality The act or quality of being on time.
Teamwork Working effectively within a group to achieve a common goal
Time Management Manages time effectively, prioritizing tasks and able to work to deadlines.
Work Ethics A belief in a set of values centered on the importance of doing work and reflected especially in a desire or determination to work hard.
Cultural Awareness The ability and willingness to objectively examine the values, beliefs, traditions and perceptions within our own and other cultures.
Self-promoting The practice of purposefully presenting yourself as highly competent to other people.
Problem-solving The process of working through details of a problem to reach a solution.
Computer literacy Familiarity with computers and how they work.

Commitment The state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc.
Business etiquette A set of rules that govern the way people interact with one another in business.
Planning/Organizing The ability to plan activities & carry them through effectively

Analyzing/Investigating Gathers information systematically to establish facts & principles. Problem solving.
