Things to know before you start your research

Who designed the C.R.A.P. test to evaluation information sources? Molly Beestrum
On a website, which would indicate currency? How often the site is updated. All links are working. Publication of articles are current. A bibliography is included.
Which would indicate reliability? The article addresses the information need. Data is research based. References are provided.
Which would indicate Authority? The author is well written and is a known expert in the field. The language used is scholarly, a bibliography is included.
Which would indicate Purpose or point of view? The language is objective, impartial and scholarly. Evidence is based on sound analysis.
Which would indicate Relevance The article is a primary source document. The article addresses issues specific to the information need.
