weather the condition of the atmosphere at a particular time, including temperature, precipitation, and humidity for a particular day or week
vegetation plant life
hurricane a strong storm with swirling winds and heavy rainfall
cyclone a storm with rotating winds, called a typhoon in the Eastern Hemisphere; a hurricane in other parts of the world
tornado a storm with powerful winds that follows an unpredictable path
raw material unfinished or natural materials such as minerals, oil, or coal used to make finished products
nonrenewable resource a source of energy that is limited and cannot be replaced, such as oil
renewable resource a raw material or energy source that replaces itself over time
habitat the natural environment of a living plant or animal
ecosystem a community of living organisms and their natural environment, or habitat
marine life the plants and animals living in the ocean
