| Global Positioning System (GPS) | a satellite system based in space that finds absolute location and time anywhere on Earth. |
| relative location | the position of a place in relation to other places |
| region | a group of places with common traits |
| continent | a large landmass on Earth's surface; Earth has seven continents |
