Population Cycle A drawn up model to help us to understand how a population increases over time

Colonisation One country takes political control over another country
Irrigation Supplying dry agricultural land with water through canals or plastic piping, so that crops can grow
Feminist Movement A pressure group started by women to achieve equality with men
Population distribution The dispersal of people in the world
Population Density The average number of people living in a square kilometre
Biofuels Energy sources that can be extracted from corn, sugar canes, grasses and organic waste
Desertification The spread of a desert due to drought, over grazing and tree felling.
