What is EECs and what are 3 drugs that are found in them? EEC- are glass containers that are vacuumed or have a great negative pressure. 3 drugs- Amiodarone (Cordarone), Nitroglycerin (Nitrostat), Phenylephine (Neosynephrine)
What are 2 types of pumps used to make TPN? Automix-automated device used to compound TPN bases; Micromix- An automated device used to add additives to a TPN base
What are the parts of a needle? Lumen-the hollow space inside a needle, Bevel- the sharp pointed end of the needle, Heel- the opposite of the bevel; the rounded bottom part of the needle, Hub- The part of the needle that attaches to the syringe
What are yellow sharps containers used for? To dispose of any Chemotherapy items
Compounded prescriptions require what? 1. A number of calculations; 2. A formula or recipe; 3. Equipment and supplies; 4. An area suitable for computing the task
