Electrical Circuits

TermDefinition
Ohms Law I = V/R
Current The actual substance that is flowing in the wires
Voltage A force that pushes the current through the circuit
Resistance Friction that impedes flow of current through the circuit
Series Circuit If a single light is out, then the circuit breaks because the electricity can only flow in one way.
Parallel Circuit If a light goes out, the other lights can stay on.
Measuring Current Electrical current is measured in amps using an ammeter in series in the current.
Measuring Voltage The electrical push which the cell gives to the current.
Electrical Cell device, such as a battery, that is capable of generating electricity.
