Nature Biological factors such as genetics
Nurture Experiences that shape human behavior
Development Growth of the human brain experienced in the early stages of life
Neural pathways Connections between cells in the brain
Brain mechanisms Areas and specific structures in the brain that work together for its functioning
Neuroplasticity Changes in the neural pathways in the brain; strengthening or weakening of connections, or adding or breaking them
Schema Collection of beliefs an individual holds
Perception How an individual perceives their environment based on sensory and informational input, is affected by schema and sensory neural pathways
Emotions An individual’s feelings at a given point in time
Memories Collection of an individual’s experiences and knowledge that is stored in the brain
