Predictive Reading A strategy in which readers use information from a text
Advocate To speak or write in favor of
Feedback Advise or criticism given for improvement
Resilient Able to withstand or recover quickly from a difficult condition
Pre-requisite A course that must be completed before another
Subservient To be passive or obey
Accommodation The state of being accommodated
Solitary Living, being, or going alone
Palate Sense of taste
Syllabus A course "contract" that spells out requirements, schedule, etc.
Transcript A document showing completed course credits and grades
Pittance Very small amount of money paid to someone
Clairvoyant Seeing something beyond, natural vision, someone who is very perceptive or visionary
Advocacy Pleading for support or recommending
Capital Accumulations of money or property
Destitute Without the means to support yourself or to provide food, shelter, and clothes

Activist Person who campaigns to bring about political or social change
Edible Something that you can devour or eat
Criteria A standard on which a judgment or decision may be based
Depletion Reducing something in numbers
Greenhouse gases Carbon dioxide and methane that traps heat above the earth causes the greenhouse effects
Climate The generally prevailing weather conditions of a region
Accolades Accomplishments or awards given
Commencement The ceremony of concerning degrees or granting diplomas at the end of the academic year
