What is a mixture? It is a combination of 2 or more kinds of matter.
What is a solution? It is a mixture of 2 or more substances blended completely.
What is an alloy? It is a mixture of 2 or more elements and one has to be a metal.
Give an example of a mixture. Salad, laundry, cereal with milk
Give an example of a solution. Salt water, lemonade, chocolate milk
Give an example of an alloy. Bronze, steel
What are 4 ways to separate mixtures? Settling, filtration, evaporation and distillation
What tool is needed to separate solids from liquids during the process of filtration? A filter
What is settling? When the different densities of matter cause the parts to separate (example: When you let a mixture of sand and water sit for awhile, the sand settles to the bottom.)
