TermDefinition
Leadership The ability to direct people and positively influence them, so they follow and obey you.
Autocratic Leadership The manager makes all the decisions without consulting other employees, he gives orders and uses his position of authority to get employees to do what he wants
Democratic Leadership The manager involves the employees in decision making, he delegates work to employees he trusts and uses reasoning and explanation to get his way
Laissez Faire Leadership Manager does not interfere with employees work , she gives a time limit and leaves method up to the employee and aso uses reasoning and explanation
Delegation A manager assigns authority to an employee to carry out a task or project for him, gives the employee the power to do some of his management work
Motivation Manager energises employees and provides them with appealing incentives so that they will willingly co-operate and work harder for the business
Theory X Manager believes employees do not like to work, are lazy and have no ambition, They prefer to be told what to do and are only interested in money, they have a pessimistic view of employees
Theory Y Believes employees enjoy working, have ambition and want to get on in the business .Believes they want more responsibility and more challenging jobs
