what is location? where is it?
what is place? what is it like?
what is region? how are areas similar of different? how are areas unified?
region includes what 3 major parts? perceptual, formal and functional
what is human environment interaction? how do people relate to the physical world? how do we work with it? change it?
what is movement? how do people, ideas and products move from one location to another
what are the three major parts of movement? linear, time, psychological distance
what is the prime meridian? the imaginary central line running from the north pole to the south pole going thru Greenwich, England
what is the equator? the imaginary central line between the poles
what is the solstice? earth's poles point at their greatest angle away from the sun
what is the equinox? 12 hrs of sunlight and 12 hours of darkness
what is the tropic of cancer? 23 1/2 degrees north of the equator
what is the tropic of capricorn? 23 1/2 degrees south of the equator
what are the tropics? low latitude areas near the equator
what are the polar regions? areas around the poles
what is weather? condition of atmosphere at given time and place
what is temperature? measurement of heat
