Review terms and definitions of literary devices we've been studying.

| Personification | A figure of speech that endows animals, ideas, or inanimate objects with human traits or abilities. |
| Oxymoron | Seeming contradiction in two words put together |
| Onamotopoeia | The use of words that imitate natural sound |
| Metaphor | A figure of speech using implied comparison of things |
| Simile | A figure of speech comparing things using like or as |
| Hyperbole | A figure of speech using deliberate exaggeration or overstatement for dramatic effect |
| Allusion | A direct or indirect reference to someone or something which is commonly known |
| Alliteration | The repetition of sounds, especially initial consonant sounds in two or more neighboring words |
| Foreshadowing | Refers to the use of indicative word or phrases and hints that set the stage for a story to unfold and give the reader a hint of something that is going to happen without revealing the story or spoiling the suspense |
| Symbolism` | Using an object or action that means something more than its literal meaning |
| Idiom | Group of words used in a new way, giving the words a whole new meaning |
| Analogy | A comparison between two things, typically for the purpose of explanation or clarification. |
