MOA of digoxin positive inotropic and negative chronotropic
positive inotropic of digoxin? inhibit Na pump; allows more Ca to stay in the cardiac cell l/t increased contractility
negative chronotropic of digoxin? suppresses SA node; prolong refractory period
Tx uses for digoxin heart failure; A.fib; atrial flutter
therapeutic level for digoxin 0.5 - 2 ng/ml
Nursing considerations for digoxin assess AP for full 60s; hold if <60 and >100; assess digoxin level
