Study Skills

One of your most important keys to your success as a student is the ability to learn and master new information.
Study skills are individualized methods or tools that can help an individual to attain and retain new information
note-taking the writing down of key ideas or concepts
mind-mapping an illustration or graph used to take notes and solve problems
mnemonics memory triggers using songs, acronyms, etc.
Where should you be studying ? In a quite secure place with all the tools you need
Learning styles are classifications that are used to identify the difference ways in which people learn
Learning takes place through individual perceptions of reality and the way information or experiences are processed
Interactive learners (imaginative or innovative learners) learn best by watching, listening, and sharing ideas
Reader listener (analytical learners) learn best by thinking through the ideas they have read or heard
Systematic learners (common-sense learners) learns best when they can connect it to real life situations -concentrates best when studying alone
Intuitive learners (dynamic learners) learn through trial and error and self -discovery
