QuestionAnswer
Structure What about the language used? What techniques or patterns has the poet used? What effect do these techniques have?
Theme or Message What is the poet’s purpose in writing? What does he/she want to communicate?
Mood What emotions or feelings does the poet seek to evoke in the reader? How does the poem make you feel? Does the mood change?
Effect on you What is the impact of the poem? What do YOU feel about it? Does it achieve the writer’s purpose?
Content What is the poem about? What event, experience or situation does the poem describe?
