Kinetic energy a form of energy in motion; (kinetic energy = 1/2 kilograms X velocity squared (v²)
Potential energy energy stored in a positioned object giving it the potential to cause change
GPE (gravitational potential energy) energy that is stored by things that are above the Earth's surface (GPE = mass in kilograms X 9.8m² X height in joules
Elastic potential energy energy that is stored by things that stretch
Chemical potential energy energy that is stored in chemical bonds between atoms
Mechanical energy the total amount of kinetic, and potential energy in an object
Law of Conservation of Energy energy may change from one form to another - the amount of energy never changes as a result of the change - it neither loses or gains energy
