Persuasive techniques to persuade your audience

| rhetorical questions | Questions without an answer that make the reader think. |
| catchy phrases or slogans | Slogans really stick in the brain! |
| quote a reliable source | Use scientists or importent people to persuade |
| statistics | Add weight to your argument by including statistics |
| emotive words | Play on the readers emotions |
| play on the reader’s guilt | Make them feel bad (especially if a charity etc) |
| commands | ordering the reader to do something. Direct effect on the reader |
| direct pronouns | You! speaks directly |
| Anecdote | Personal story to make the reader feel included |
| Personal pronouns | 'I' and 'we' add a weight as they are personal. |
