Persuasive Writing

Persuasive techniques to persuade your audience

rhetorical questions Questions without an answer that make the reader think.
catchy phrases or slogans Slogans really stick in the brain!
quote a reliable source Use scientists or importent people to persuade
statistics Add weight to your argument by including statistics
emotive words Play on the readers emotions
play on the reader’s guilt Make them feel bad (especially if a charity etc)
commands ordering the reader to do something. Direct effect on the reader
direct pronouns You! speaks directly
Anecdote Personal story to make the reader feel included
Personal pronouns 'I' and 'we' add a weight as they are personal.
