Physical Property any observable trait
Colloid particles intermediate in size suspended in the air (EX fog)
Susupension a heterogeneous mixture that separates into layers over time
Matter anything that has mass and volume
Pure Substance matter that has the same composition throughout the particles. The particles are attached
Element a substance that cannot be broken down
Compound a substance made from two or more simpler substances that can be broken down
Mixture 2 or more substances (elements or compounds) that are not attached in the same space
Heterogeneous mixure the different particles in this mixture are noticeable different (EX sand)
Homogeneous mixture substances so easily distributed that you can barely tell there is more than one substance in it (EX swimming pool)
