Archaeologist A specialist in archaeology, the scientific study of prehistoric peoples and their cultures by studying their artifacts, inscriptions, monuments, etc.
Preserved To keep alive or in existence; make something lasting.
Mesas A land formation, less extensive than a plateau, having steep walls and a relatively flat top and common in dry and hot parts of the southwestern U.S. and Mexico.
Irrigate to supply land with water by artificial means, as by diverting streams, flooding, or spraying.
Anthropologist A person who specializes in anthropology.
Inquisitive Eager for knowledge; intellectually curious.
Potsherds A broken pottery fragment, especially one of archaeological value.
Earthenware Pottery of baked or hardened clay.
Dwelling A building or place of shelter to live in; place of residence; abode; home.
Reconstruction An act of rebuilding.
